 ELECTROLYTIC NICKEL

Unlike Electroless Nickel, Electrolytic nickel uses an external current supply to plate the nickel to various substrates. It is one of the most widely used types of plating. Electrolytic nickel comes in different forms, the most popular at Miller being Bright Nickel and Sulfamate Nickel. Bright Nickel, as indicated by it's name, has a bright cosmetic appearance and is often used as an undercoating for Chrome applications. Sulfamate Nickel, on the other hand, has a dull, matte finish.

Features and Benefits:

  • Excellent corrosion protection
  • Can be used as an undercoating
  • Good wear resistance
  • Good abrasion resistance
